Personalized Learning

In consonance with the school’s core value‘ QAM CARES’, Qatar Academy Msheireb embraces and nurtures an environment of inclusivity.  At the heart of every learning journey lies the student and his/her abilities, learning style, skills, background, and interests. Incorporating different styles of learning and teaching, QAM’s Student Support Team (QAM SST) creates customized learning paths through the following services:

Learning support in English and Arabic (LS): Being a dual-language school, QAM offers efficacious learning support services in English and Arabic, through a 3 tiered system.

Tier 1: Classroom support plans for class teacher to implement
Tier 2: Small group instruction
Tier 3: Individualized Education Programs (IEP)

Students are assessed and goals, strategies and interventions are implemented, documented and periodically reviewed to strengthen and measure student progress.

English as an Additional Language (EAL): QAM takes pride in its dual – language model.  The EAL program is run in conjunction with the classroom curriculum, and aligned with WIDA (World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment) language proficiency standards and assessments. EAL students are taken out of class (pull-out) to engage in small group sessions until a certain level of proficiency is achieved, after which, EAL support becomes push-in or is gradually withdrawn.

Arabic as an Additional Language (AAL): For students being introduced to Arabic, QAM offers Arabic as an Additional Language (AAL). Students are given the opportunity to hone their Arabic listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. The AAL sessions are taught creatively, imbibing the culture and awarding insights into Arabic language and culture.
