Governance

Qatar Academy Msheireb is part of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development. Chaired by Her Highness Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned, Qatar Foundation is governed by the Executive Board of Directors, which serve as the governing authority that appoints the Board of Advisors for Qatar Academy Msheireb.

The Board of Advisors act as an advisory and community connection body, and meet with the school's senior administrators frequently throughout the school year.

Abeer Al-Khalifa 
President of Pre-University Education

I started my career in the English Language Teaching Unit at Qatar University. In 2000, I joined the teaching domain in the local schools as an English teacher. By 2004, I was leading this teaching department as a coordinator, and in 2005 my achievements led to me being appointed as Principal then as Director.

I joined PUE in 2011 as a Project Manager and launched Qatar Academy Sidra. Over the following decade, I established the National Programs department and enhanced Qatar Foundation Schools strategies to empower student learning through a continuous curriculum improvement process. As Executive Director of Academic Affairs, I led the Teaching Learning Center and the Educational Development Institute, providing consultation services and professional development programs for the education community. More recently, as Executive Director of Qatar Foundation Schools, I managed operational aspects across all Qatar Foundation schools.

 I hold an Executive MBA from in HEC Paris, with my research investigating differentiation and innovation in education services with the aim of maximizing added value. My experience and education demonstrate the necessary skills to implement the QF and Pre-University Education vision moving forward. 

Daniel H. Harrison

Executive Director of Qatar Foundation Schols, Pre-University Education

Danny’s professional experience extends across a diverse range of cultures and education systems including United Kingdom, New Zealand, Jordan, Oman and Qatar. He has over 30 years of experience in the education sector including direct teaching, curriculum development, school administration, campus start-ups and most recently commercial development and expansion of academic campuses in the Middle East with responsibilities across multiple business units.

He joined Qatar Foundation as Director of School Development, and was recently appointed as Executive Director (Operations) of QF Schools.

Eng. Ali Al Kuwari 
Acting CEO, Msheireb Properties

Eng. Ali Al Kuwari is the Acting CEO of Msheireb Properties where he spearheads the company’s strategy of developing and shaping the way people think about urban living and sustainable urban regeneration. He leads the teams responsible for Msheireb Properties’ key development projects; Msheireb Downtown Doha and Zulal Wellness Resort. 

Eng. Ali has over 19 years of experience, specialising in the fields of cost and planning engineering and project management. Before taking over the reigns as Acting Chief Executive Officer, Eng. Ali ran Msheireb Properties’ Design and Delivery Directorate, where he was responsible for developing and implementing strategic and operational plans and ensuring that all projects were devised and delivered within the agreed timeline, budgets, and quality measures as per Msheireb Properties’ stakeholders’ expectations. 

Before Joining Msheireb Properties, Eng. Ali worked at Technip (now TechnipFMC) in Paris and also at Qatar Petroleum (QP) where the rose through the ranks to eventually become the Acting Lead Cost Planning Engineer. At QP. He successfully executed many projects, including the construction of one of the world’s largest olefin crackers, LPG tanks at Mesaieed Industrial City, and fuel gas supply pipelines in Dukhan fields to name a few.  

Eng. Ali holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Miami and an Executive MBA from HEC Paris in Qatar.

Lolwa Husain M Almarri

Humanitarian work:

  • Participated with Qatar Charity for Assisting Syrian refugees in Turkey 24-27 May 2016.
  • Participated with Qatar Charity & Layan for Assisting Syrian refugees in Lebanon 23-26 February 2017.

Marzooq Tariq Al Shamlan

Group CEO of Marzooq Shamlan Al Shamlan Holding – a keen professional with 15 years of international experience gained in the energy, retail, and services sectors. Marzooq initially worked in several projects for Qatar Petroleum across Qatar, Japan, USA and UK. His strong commercial acumen, alongside operational and technical expertise have been developed throughout the managerial roles he held at Qatar Petroleum and Qatar Fuel (Woqod).

Marzooq Al Shamlan holds an Executive MBA Degree from HEC Paris, in addition to a BSc in Chemical Engineering from Texas Tech University. 

Mohammed Jassim Ghanim Al Kuwari

A seasoned, customer focused and results oriented professional with more than 25 years’ experience in managing & leading enabling functions with deep expertise in Human Resources, Procurement & Supply Chain, Building & Support Services and Operational Excellence.

Currently Mr. Kuwari is working in Ooredoo Qatar as the Chief Corporate Services Officer since 2011 & is responsible for ensuring Ooredoo’s business units are enabled in the most appropriate manner by meticulous management of Human Capital, Sourcing & Procurement and Facility & Support Services. Prior to this role, Mr. Kuwari was managing the Human Capital for Ooredoo Qatar and has held multiple leadership positions in the HR function.

Prior to joining Ooredoo, Mr. Kuwari worked in RasGas for more than 10 years. He has a BSc of Business Administration from the American University, Washington DC and has numerous leadership development certifications. Mr. Kuwari serves in multiple Boards including Ooredoo Oman.
